Okay folk, let's hear your favourite series, and why?
Mine is the Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan.
Just adding the end of the 3rd book and all of the 4th book to my iPod so I have something to do while working. I like the fact that his books, though based in fantasy, bring as much realism as possible into it, having the characters react strongly to the saidar and saidin, as well as the creatures from overseas, some fictional, and some real. It was basically the reason I continued on my path of fantasy writing, instead of giving up writing, or at least fantasy/sci-fi when I was very young.

Well, mine was the LoTR books. After watching the movies, I wanted to see what differences lingered in the books that the movies didn't touch on, and I was amazed at all the different situations that happened in the books that were neglected by the movies. I'd have gladly set through another hour or so through the movies to see some sections, such as the meeting of Tom Bombadilli and the like.

Never read the LOTR books, and the movies were a bit too long, but they were okay. Never got into the books, likely because when I tell folk I write fantasy, they say, "Oh, like LOTR?" Well, NO. No, not like LOTR.

Playboy magazine Magazine being the key word here Smechers...It's favorite BOOKS, not mags. That's racist. And according to you, racism isn't allowed on these boards. I think a lil' St. Anger moment is in the making.

Playboy is for wimps, get yourself some real porn! How about you send me some? Really? I have it, but I can't seem to get through the first hundred pages of the first book. It just seems a bit tedious in the beginning.
